If you would like your MentorNeko account permanently deleted, you have the right to request this at any time. This article explains how to make that request, what happens to your data, and what you should know before proceeding.
How to Request Deletion
Account deletion requests are handled by your program administrator or MentorNeko support. To initiate a request:
- Contact your program administrator directly and ask them to process a deletion request for your account.
- Email MentorNeko support at support@mentorneko.com if you cannot reach your administrator or your organization no longer has an active admin contact.
Include your full name and the email address associated with your account so the request can be matched to the correct record.
What Happens to Your Data
Once your request is verified and processed, the following happens:
Removed permanently:
- Your name
- Your email address
- Your profile photo
- Your bio
- All profile dimension values (skills, goals, experience details, and similar)
- Any personally identifiable information stored in your account
Retained for program analytics:
- Match and program records may be retained, including structural records that support program reporting.
- If observed-use tracking has recorded days for your member account, those day-level activity rows may be retained indefinitely under a random subject key and a roster-entry cohort month. While your member record is live, authorized organization administrators and platform operators can review the linked day history. The rows are not a complete login history and do not prove continuous attention.
- Activity days can include whether and when you first opened the community directory that day. They do not record which profiles you viewed.
- Connect attempt records retain the time, organization, delivery outcome, and provider message identifier where available. Your sender or recipient link is removed during the scrub, while attempt counts remain available for analytics. Connect subjects and message bodies are never stored in these records. Replies go directly between members' mailboxes and are not tracked by MentorNeko.
The live member link is cleared during the scrub. Retained activity rows can still be counted as observed subjects or person-days, but they cannot be joined to your current member record through the application after that link is removed. This is a description of the database erasure step, not a guarantee of irreversible anonymization: past exports, mappings, administrator access, or other records outside the scrub may still permit correlation.
Authorized organization administrators can query organization analytics, including observed-use activity and Connect attempt metadata, through the platform's analytics features. Connect attempts do not establish that a reply or conversation happened. Analytics results may be processed by the configured AI Gateway provider when an administrator uses AI Insights under the platform's stated zero-data-retention controls.
Access After Deletion
You will be logged out immediately when your account is deleted. Any magic links associated with your account will stop working. You will not be able to log back in or recover your account after deletion.
This Action Is Permanent
Account deletion cannot be undone. Once your personal information is scrubbed, it is gone. If you later rejoin your organization's MentorNeko program, you would start fresh as a new member with no history from your previous account.
If you are not sure whether deletion is the right choice, consider speaking with your program administrator first. Depending on your situation, temporary deactivation may be a better fit if you simply need a break from the program.
Timeline
Deletion requests are processed promptly once your identity has been verified. In most cases this happens within a few business days. You will receive a confirmation once the process is complete.
