Deleting Your Account

If you would like your MentorNeko account permanently deleted, you have the right to request this at any time. This article explains how to make that request, what happens to your data, and what you should know before proceeding.

How to Request Deletion

Account deletion requests are handled by your program administrator or MentorNeko support. To initiate a request:

  • Contact your program administrator directly and ask them to process a deletion request for your account.
  • Email MentorNeko support at support@mentorneko.com if you cannot reach your administrator or your organization no longer has an active admin contact.

Include your full name and the email address associated with your account so the request can be matched to the correct record.

What Happens to Your Data

Once your request is verified and processed, the following happens:

Removed permanently:

  • Your name
  • Your email address
  • Your profile photo
  • Your bio
  • All profile dimension values (skills, goals, experience details, and similar)
  • Any personally identifiable information stored in your account

Retained anonymously:

  • Your participation in match history is preserved for program analytics, but it is structurally anonymized. The records that remain cannot be traced back to you by name, email, or any other identifier.

This approach lets organizations retain aggregate data (how many matches were completed, session completion rates, program outcomes) without retaining anything that identifies you personally.

Access After Deletion

You will be logged out immediately when your account is deleted. Any magic links associated with your account will stop working. You will not be able to log back in or recover your account after deletion.

This Action Is Permanent

Account deletion cannot be undone. Once your personal information is scrubbed, it is gone. If you later rejoin your organization's MentorNeko program, you would start fresh as a new member with no history from your previous account.

If you are not sure whether deletion is the right choice, consider speaking with your program administrator first. Depending on your situation, temporary deactivation may be a better fit if you simply need a break from the program.

Timeline

Deletion requests are processed promptly once your identity has been verified. In most cases this happens within a few business days. You will receive a confirmation once the process is complete.
