Acceptable Use Policy

1. Scope
This Acceptable Use Policy (“AUP”) applies to all individuals who access or use the MentorNeko platform (“Service”) through an organization's account, including mentors, mentees, administrators, and networking participants.
The organization identified in the applicable subscription agreement is responsible for ensuring that its users are aware of and comply with this AUP.
2. Permitted Use
The Service is provided for the purpose of facilitating mentorship relationships, professional development programs, and networking introductions within your organization. You may use the Service to:
- Create and maintain a professional profile
- Participate in mentorship programs as a mentor, mentee, or both
- Participate in networking introductions
- Communicate with matched partners through the Service
- Track goals, session notes, and program progress
- Administer programs and manage members (for administrators)
- Access reports and analytics relevant to your role
3. Prohibited Conduct
Harmful Behavior
- Harass, bully, threaten, intimidate, or discriminate against any other user based on race, gender, sexual orientation, religion, disability, age, national origin, or any other protected characteristic
- Engage in any conduct that creates an unsafe, hostile, or uncomfortable environment for other users
- Impersonate another person or misrepresent your affiliation with any organization
- Use the Service to send unsolicited commercial messages or spam
Misuse of the Platform
- Use the Service for any purpose other than the permitted uses described above
- Share account credentials with unauthorized individuals
- Access or attempt to access another user's account without authorization
- Use automated tools (bots, scrapers, crawlers) to access the Service without prior written consent
- Attempt to probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the Service without prior written authorization
Data and Security
- Extract, scrape, or systematically download data from the Service for use outside the Service
- Share other users' personal information (including contact details, profile data, or matching results) outside the Service without the individual's consent
- Upload content that contains malware, viruses, or other harmful code
- Attempt to interfere with the Service's availability, integrity, or performance
Legal and Competitive
- Use the Service in violation of any applicable law or regulation
- Use the Service to develop, train, or improve a competing product or service
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to derive the source code of the Service
- Circumvent or attempt to circumvent any access controls, usage limits, or security features of the Service
4. Content Standards
You are responsible for the accuracy and appropriateness of your profile content. Profiles should contain truthful, professional information relevant to mentorship and professional development.
You must not upload, post, or share content that:
- Is illegal, defamatory, obscene, or pornographic
- Infringes any third party's intellectual property rights
- Contains personal information of third parties without their consent
- Promotes illegal activities or violence
- Is misleading, fraudulent, or deceptive
Notes, goals, and communications shared through the Service should be professional and relevant to the mentoring relationship. Both participants in a match share access to session notes within the platform.
5. AI Feature Usage
AI-generated outputs (including matching recommendations and rationales) are advisory tools to support human decision-making. You should not rely solely on AI outputs without applying your own professional judgment.
You must not:
- Use AI-generated matching recommendations as the sole basis for employment, promotion, or termination decisions
- Use AI features to discriminate against individuals based on protected characteristics
- Attempt to manipulate AI matching algorithms by providing false or misleading profile information
- Extract or reverse-engineer AI model outputs for the purpose of training competing models
6. Account Security
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your login credentials (including magic link emails). You must not share magic link URLs with other individuals.
You must promptly report any suspected unauthorized access to your account or any security incident to your organization's administrator and to us at security@mentorneko.com.
7. Reporting Violations
If you suspect a violation of this AUP, please contact your organization's administrator or email us at support@mentorneko.com. We will investigate reported violations in a timely manner.
8. Enforcement
If we determine that a user has violated this AUP, we may, depending on the severity of the violation:
- Issue a warning to the user and/or their organization
- Temporarily suspend the user's access to the Service
- Permanently disable the user's account (a permanent ban that cannot be reversed)
- In cases of severe or repeated violations, suspend or terminate the organization's access to the Service
Except in cases requiring immediate action to protect the safety or security of users or the Service, we will give the organization reasonable notice before taking enforcement action and an opportunity to address the violation. The organization is ultimately responsible for its users' compliance with this AUP.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this AUP from time to time. Material changes will be communicated to organization administrators with at least 30 days' written notice. Continued use of the Service after the notice period constitutes acceptance of the updated AUP.
