Profile readiness is a quality gate that protects the integrity of your matches. Before you can enroll in a mentorship program, MentorNeko checks that your profile has enough information for the AI engine to pair you accurately. A thin profile leads to weak matches. The readiness requirement ensures that every person entering the matching pool has given the platform what it needs to find them a genuinely good partner.

The Three Requirements
1. Profile Photo
You must upload an avatar photo. This does not need to be a professional headshot, but it should be a clear photo of you. Profile photos help build trust and make conversations feel more personal when members connect through the platform.
To upload your photo, open the edit profile dialog and click the avatar area.
2. Bio of at Least 30 Words
Your bio must be at least 30 words long. The platform enforces this minimum because a bio shorter than that rarely gives a prospective match meaningful context about who you are and what you are looking for.
If your bio is too short, the platform will display the current word count alongside the requirement so you know exactly how much more to add.
3. All Required Dimensions Filled
Your organization may have marked certain profile dimensions as required. These are typically the dimensions most important for matching in your community, such as seniority level, department, or primary skill areas. Required dimensions vary by organization.
Any required dimension that is still empty will appear in the completeness checklist on your dashboard.
What Happens If Your Profile Is Incomplete
If you try to enroll in a program before your profile is ready, you will see a Complete Profile to Enroll message instead of the standard enrollment button. The platform will not let you proceed until the requirements are met.
Your dashboard also shows a profile completeness card when anything is missing. The card lists each incomplete item with a direct link to fix it. Once all three requirements are met, the card disappears and your enrollment button becomes available.

How to Complete Your Profile
- Open your profile from the dashboard (click the Edit Profile button or your avatar)
- Upload a profile photo if you have not already
- Check your bio and expand it to at least 30 words if needed
- Fill in any dimension fields flagged as required by your organization
- Save your changes
The readiness check updates as soon as you save. If all three requirements are now met, you can return to the Programs page and enroll.
A Note on Admin Overrides
In special circumstances, administrators can manually create matches for members whose profiles do not yet meet the readiness threshold. This is intended for edge cases such as sponsored participants or members joining mid-cycle. If your admin has arranged a match for you, your incomplete profile will not block the match from becoming active.
