Achievements and Milestones

MentorNeko recognizes your progress through an achievement system that marks meaningful moments in your mentorship journey. Achievements give you a sense of forward movement and help both you and your administrator see the shape of your engagement over time.

The 9 Achievement Types

First Session

Earned when you complete your first session in a match. This marks the moment your mentorship moves from introduction to action.

Goal Setter

Earned when you create your first SMART goal in a match. Available to both mentors and mentees, though in practice it is typically the mentee who creates the first goal.

Goal Achieved

Earned when a goal in your match is marked as Achieved. Every goal that crosses the finish line awards this achievement to both participants in the match.

Halfway There

Earned when you complete the halfway point of your program's planned sessions. If your program has eight sessions, you earn this after session four. It is a recognition that the relationship is mature and the work is well underway.

Program Complete

Earned when your match transitions to Completed status after finishing the full program. This is the capstone achievement for a full mentorship journey.

Consistent Check-ins

Earned by maintaining a consistent check-in cadence over a defined stretch of your program. If you complete sessions on schedule without extended gaps, this achievement recognizes the discipline it takes to keep a relationship active over time.

Mentor 1, Mentor 3, and Mentor 5

These three achievements are available exclusively to members in the Mentor role. They are earned by accumulating a career total of 1, 3, and 5 completed mentorship matches respectively, across all programs and over any period of time.

  • Mentor 1: Your first completed match as a mentor
  • Mentor 3: Three completed matches as a mentor
  • Mentor 5: Five completed matches as a mentor

These achievements recognize mentors who invest in others repeatedly and build a lasting coaching practice.

Momentum Dots

Momentum dots appear in the Match Hub Overview tab and on your dashboard. They are a compact visual indicator of your check-in activity across the life of the match. Each dot represents a period; filled dots indicate active participation and empty dots indicate gaps in your check-in record.

Momentum dots give you and your administrator an at-a-glance read on whether a partnership is active and healthy. A consistent run of filled dots alongside a completed-session count is the clearest sign of an engaged relationship.

Completion Certificates

When a match reaches Completed status, each participant receives a personalized completion certificate. The certificate is branded with your organization's logo and colors and includes:

  • Your name and your partner's name
  • The program name and dates
  • Sessions completed and goals achieved during the match

Certificates are downloadable as PDFs and are suitable for sharing with colleagues, adding to a professional portfolio, or simply keeping as a record of the work you put in.

You can access your certificates at any time from the Past Partnerships section of your dashboard.

How Achievements Track Your Journey

Individually, each achievement marks a moment. Together, they form a picture of how you have grown. Over multiple programs and matches, your achievement record reflects the consistency and depth of your investment in mentorship, whether as a learner or as someone who gives their experience back to others.
