PMI Toronto is the Toronto chapter of the Project Management Institute, serving project professionals across the Greater Toronto Area. In 2026 the chapter launched a member networking program on MentorNeko, with a structured mentorship program following in the fourth quarter.

The program
Eleven groups instead of one general pool
Rather than dropping every member into a single matching pool, the chapter runs networking groups that members choose for themselves, holding up to three at a time. Because each group is specific, conversations start further along: nobody has to explain what they do from scratch.

Networking first, structured mentorship second
The chapter opened networking groups first and is bringing its structured mentorship program back in the fourth quarter of 2026, pairing mentors and mentees for a guided relationship built around defined goals, session structure, and progress milestones.
Both programs run on the same platform and the same member account, so a member who joins a networking group today needs no second sign up when mentorship opens. Sequencing it this way lets members try a single 30 minute conversation before committing to a months-long pairing.

Eligibility follows the roster, automatically
Chapter membership records sync from PMI Global, so access opens as soon as a member's record reaches the platform, usually within days of joining or renewing. No committee maintains a spreadsheet of who is eligible.
Matching and reminders run without a volunteer
Introductions go out on each group's own cadence. The chapter chose the platform because association chapters run on volunteer time, and matching, reminders, and reporting happen automatically rather than consuming a committee's evenings.
